What is Road Manager?

Road Manager is a web-based traffic planning tool that allows you to draw traffic plans over a Google Map or imported mapping. You can manage your road work or event live in the field.

What is the Road Manager trial?

Road Manager can be trialled for 15 days for free when you sign up with a Credit Card. You can cancel your subscription at anytime in the Account Administration portal.

What countries is Road Manager available in?

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, New Zealand,  Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Sweden, UK and USA.

What web browsers are supported?

Road Manager is created for use with the latest version of Google Chrome.

Is there any training available for Road Manager?

Is there mobile access and what devices are supported?

Mobile and Tablet access is supported through the Google Chrome browser and access is the same as any other device with a login required to access your plans.

Can Road Manager be used on a tablet?

Yes, Road Manager can be used on any tablet that is connected to the Internet.  Although it can be difficult to draw complex plans using a tablet.

When and how will you be notified of application changes and planned outages?

We notify you via email and/or the notification bell in Road Manager of any changes/updates to the program. We do not have planned outages as the updates are loaded server side with the program fully operational.

Accounts

How can I cancel my account?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on Account and select ‘CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION'.

Can I change my login email address?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on Account and Change Email. You will be asked to add the new details and confirm via email.

Can I add or remove users in my account?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on ‘License’ and increase or decrease your Licensed Users number to your new preference. NOTE this will increase or decrease your bill by the amount of users you select. Then click on ‘Users’ and go ahead and add the new users details and user level. They will receive an email to login to the account.

Can I change users in the account?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on ‘Users’, select the user and select edit. Change the users access level or add new users details. NOTE that there has to always be one Administrator for the account.

Adding External Users to my account?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on ‘External Users’. Then click on the plus button and go ahead and add the new external users email address and set their user level. They will receive an email notifying them you have invited them into your account. They can access your account by selecting the dropdown box on the My Plans screen.  The external user must have a paid account to edit your plans.

How do I update my payment details?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on ‘Payment Method’. You can add Credit Card details or your PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay details as the payment options.

Do accounts get deactivated or deleted?

Accounts can be deleted or placed into reviewer mode through the cancel subscription button in the Accounts page. Accounts also go into the free reviewer mode if you do not pay your account. Data from your account will be saved for 3 months and deleted after that time if the account is not reactivated. Notification emails will be sent during this time.

Can you set up an administrator role for security purposes to activate and deactivate user accounts only? And can you have multiple people in this role?

The administrator has full access to manage the account and can allocate multiple Admins for the one account. Administrators can add, edit and remove users with the edits coming into affect straight away. Admin users have full access to the program including the drawing and editing features.

How do I create a plan?

How do I draw a plan?

Training videos are available to show you how to draw a plan and use the tools. You can find training videos on the website in the Training tab.

How do I create a folder?

On the My Plans screen just select the plus folder button and to create a folder or sub folders

Can I move a file from one folder to another?

Select the plan you wish to move, select the move button and select the location you wish to move it too.

How do I add custom signs?

You can import png images and svg files onto the map. If they are a standard sign you can email an example to info@roadmanager.com and we can add them into the system

How do you save your plans?

Road Manager automatically saves plans when connected to the internet. Plans can also be printed as PDF or Image files.

How do I change settings between metric and imperial?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on  ‘Custom Settings’ and adjust your measuring units to the preferred selection.

How do I change the date and/or time format?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on ‘Custom Settings’ and adjust the date/time format to your preferred selection.

How do I get a logo on to my plans?

Login to Road Manager. Select the menu icon in the top left of the page, click on ‘Custom Settings’ and add your preferred Organisation’s logo. Logos can also be added on the folder setup which will override your Custom Settings for just that set of plans. NOTE that all logos need to be image files.

How do I adjust the level objects displayed on the map?

Layers can be be moved up and down in the layer list on the right.  Moving an object up brings it to the front.

Can you import KML or KMZ files?

KML files can be imported into Road Manager although they should be kept below 1mb as it will slow down the loading of your plan.

Security

Where is our data saved?

Data is stored within the Microsoft Azure server.

Do you share any of the information even in a summarised or aggregate form?

No data is shared in anyway.

Will our application be shared with other clients?

Your application is not shared with others unless you choose within your login to share your plans and access with others. This is all done by your administrator access login or via editors sharing plansets. You can always see who you have shared your plans with and revoke the sharing at anytime.

Are you notified if there is a breach or addition to any data center or application?

Yes, Azure notifies us about any breaches, data is constantly backed up on the server.

What protections are there against data loss?

Microsoft Azure server automatically creates database backups and uses Azure read-access geo-redundant storage (RA-GRS) to provide geo-redundancy. Full database backups happen weekly, differential database backups generally happen every few hours, and transaction log backups generally happen every 5 – 10 minutes. Each SQL Database backup has a retention period, that retention period is 35 days. Database backups are encrypted.

I get an error message when creating a folder?

Ensure you are using the latest Google Chrome browser.

I get an error message when creating a plan?

Ensure you are using the latest Google Chrome browser.

I get an error message on the Drawing screen when drawing?

If you get an error on the Drawing screen while drawing an object or moving the map select the browser refresh button and reload the plan. Ensure you are using the latest Google Chrome browser. If it continues try clearing the browser cache through the Google Chrome browser history.
